Phoenix roebelenii ‘Dwarf Date Palm’ or 'Pygmy Palm'
The Phoenix roebelenii ‘Dwarf Date Palm’ is a very popular and smaller growing palm, reaching a height of approx 3 metres that will handle the cooler Melbourne climate. The leaves are dark-green and feather-like and spined petioles. The Dwarf Date Palm develops a trunk with age, and the foliage sits and fans out above the trunk. Use as a specimen in small gardens, features and pots. Plant in full sun to light shade, and well drained soil.
